The Gite - Introduction & History

Les Cannas Gite was originally the outbuildings to the old woodworking workshop next door. The carpentry heritage is apparent throughout the Gite, with a handmade wooden kitchen and staircase and other features throughout the property. Five generations of Master Craftsmen lived and worked on the site. Many of the wooden interior features at the local Chateau des Milandes (the home of Josephine Baker) were crafted on the premises.

Named after the Cannas plants that grow around the property, the gite has been converted into a comfortable and spacious 5 bedroom holiday home, with balcony, games room and sunny terrace, accommodating groups of up to 12 guests (14 if the additional room next door to the property is also booked, at additional cost).

Set in the idyllic and peaceful village of
Saint Vincent de Cosse, the Gite is perfectly positioned for local tourist attractions, with historic Beynac just 3km away (closest shops and restaurants), Saint Cyprien 7km and Sarlat only 10km. Ideally located as a touring base to discover the Dordogne area, the Gite is well appointed, comfortable and family friendly. Ideal for larger families or friends vacationing together.
